Masterclass Descriptions

Carla’s Shamanic Masterclasses offer material not provided in the Animal Spirit Network teleclass series. These areas are important to a well rounded shamanist, and include classical methods for working with the spirits of place, clearing land, self healing, ancestral healing, and more. Master classes also from my own areas of shamanic innovation and exploration.

I practice exploratory shamanism in which I am always developing new work and birthing new ways of working with spirit, based on the direct knowledge they give me. Currently I am developing ways of working with spirals and eco systems. See my blog for my most current research areas.

The classes will have different prerequisite requirements based on the difficulty of the material. This schedule will be updated as I add new classes to the agenda.

Tales of the Animal Spirit Tribes

Our Power Animals have Tribes with cultures and mythology, just as our human tribes have. We can ask our power animals to heal us using the power of their tribes. Often they will do this through stories, myths that describe the nature of the world. Our concerns mirror the worlds concerns. Our healing is universal healing, and when we bring healing into the world through our Shamanic Work, we bring heal to all of the world not just ourselves and our clients. The Tribal Stories evoke this underlying truth and bring it forward in magic and beauty.

We can gather stories for ourselves, for our families and for all our relations. The stories can be personal or broadly mythic. We can express the myths in different ways. We will tell stories in the class, but we will encourage you to express them through other arts too, such as paintings, crafts, theater and dance.

Harmony Harrison has been gathering Tribal Stories of her Power Animals and has agreed to share this story with you as an example of what is possible to retrieve.

Harmony writes, “Bringing back these myths can be a service to the animal tribes. It is not just we who are benefiting, but an exchange. That’s why it’s so important for us to express the stories after we witness them. Expressing the stories is a gift we give back to the spirits, as well as to our own people & animals. Because the spirits experience such joy in the sharing, and because their incarnate tribal members benefit from the humans’ changing views of them.”

Our skills really don’t matter – even someone with rudimentary literacy will bring back beauty in concept and word. It is the spirits’ story we are retrieving. In this class you will access your core creative soul and let it sing the songs the spirits give you. Your heart will spread as wide as the eagle’s wings. You will create beauty and shine in the spirits light. You will be healed and you will gain amazing insight.

Guiding Others in Non-Ordinary Reality

We will learn how to guide others on a shamanic journey. By doing this you greatly enhance your skills in interpreting and relaying your journey as you experience it. This technique is very helpful in getting your “mind chatter” out of the way, and helping you have a deep experience. And at the same time, you will be learning to help others into NOR, without having to teach them to journey. It is a two for one!

You will learn the Rattle Journey, where you intimately guide a partner and learn to recite your travels. We will also discuss giving other people customized “mediations” to help them journey when they don’t know how. This is a very cool way to give people a personalized way to ask for healing and advice for themselves and their animal.
